NY1 News – Community Leaders Face Off in the Kitchen

NY1 News – Community leaders duke it out to see who reigns supreme in the kitchen. The North Shore Rotary hosted its second annual "Celebrity Chef" fundraiser Monday night. Amateur cooks from organizations across the borough faced-off in the cooking competition.

Last year's event brought in about $5,000.

Organizers say the money went a long way in their efforts to give back.

"Put a lot of food in food pantries, we were able to help the Geller House we were able to help a lot of children, we delivered over a hundred turkey baskets," said Christine DeHart who is with the North Shore Rotary.

"They're always here for our community so it's important as a Staten Islander to support other organizations that are there for our community in our time of need" contestant Massimo DiDonna.

Organizers say they hope to raise more than $7,000 this year.
