St. Joseph Hill Academy H.S. Student recognized with North Shore Rotary $8,000 Scholarship for Community Service

The North Shore Rotary Club annually awards an $8,000 Scholarship Award to a local High School Senior who has made contributions to our community through Community Service.

The 2016 Award was presented to Anjola Verissimo of St. Joseph Hill Academy High School. Ms. Verissimo will receive a $4,000 scholarship to pursue a major in psychology at Providence College.  The scholarship is renewable for a second year.

Anjola has volunteered her time helping the elderly at Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, serving meals to those at Project Hospitality's local outreach center, while serving as an Executive for the Friends of Staten Island (F.O.S.I.) where she and fellow students raise money to benefit local organizations in need.

"Community Service has truly enriched my high school experience and has impacted my personal growth.  It has made me realize how much I genuinely love helping others," said Anjola.

Congratulations Anjola!

The North Shore Rotary Scholarship Award is presented annually, and you can learn more by visiting the "Scholarships" page!  The application deadline is April 11th of the current year.
